Former tenant

I rented a property from this real it or. I assumed that a real estate agent would be a good landlord. I was unable to get into my house for almost a full month because he was "doing repairs" and painting. Painting was all that got done. There we're four damaged windows in the house. Literally chuncks of glass missing from the single glass panes. On two of them he hot glued a small piece of plexy glass and the other two we're never fixed. The bathroom floor around the toilet had rotted out and it got to the point that the floor would bow down if you sat on the toilet. There was water damage in the living room ceiling which was below the bathroom when we looked at the house but we we're assured the necessary repairs had been made. It was never fixed. We had water dripping into the living room the whole duration of our tenancy there. The windows we're never fixed either. We even vacated the house for an entire week to allow him to have the bathroom fixed....during that week he replaced two floor boards on our front porch. We had enough after a year and found a new place. We gave notice that we we're moving and handed it to him addmitedly a couple days after the first but I did hand it to him in person. He took it and four days later, after we had signed a new lease and paid the deposit on our new home, he decided he would no longer accept our notice. On the second of our last month he evicted us for non payment of rent. We had provided a last month rent deposit when we moved in. We we're so desperate to get out of the house that we didn't argue with the notice. We moved out by the date requested by him. He refuses to refund the balance of the last months rent deposit to us and when I mentioned that I would take the matter to the renters tribunal he threatened to call children's aid on me (not sure what for...we're a Foster family) anyways long story short....I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw a house. But that's just my experience.
