Initially the problem was simply with the agent himself. Once it became clear that the agent was not forthcoming with all the steps involved in purchasing a home (as we were first time homebuyers and unaware at the time) and was no longer willing to help us, we turned to the broker for assistance. It was only upon the threat of filing a complaint with RECO that we received the desired information (from someone other than the broker). No attempt was made by the brokerage to rectify the situation in a reasonable manner and, furthermore, the subsequent actions taken by the brokerage made our home buying process onerous from thereon in. It's a shame that what is supposed to be an exciting and joyous time of life was rendered stressful and lacklustre at best.
